Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Diversity is what comes to mind when describing my classroom. The attitude and personality, however, all have a common thread: pride for their school, respect for their peers and teachers, and honesty due to a sense of right and wrong. Each student is uniquely different and deserve an education that fits their needs, not a one size fits all.
Our kids are the future.
They deserve the best education. We are a low-income, small, rural school with 100% free lunch. Despite the hardships many of them face, they are eager to learn and enjoy coming to school. It offers them a sense of belonging, a place they can be themselves and learn. My focus is to provide ample real-world learning opportunities, full of challenging and fun experiences. I have a vision to create something even better.
I am confident these students will find their strengths as they continue their education. They will use their love of learning to reach their goals and move on to bigger and brighter accomplishments.
My Project
Technology is the way of the future. The earlier we can engage our students in the use of technology, the more prepared they will be for their future. In the meantime, we are making learning fun and engaging; which increases student achievement.
The use of an LED TV in our classroom is an addition to a grant proposal my class is working on to redesign the classroom into an active learning environment.
The TV will create an area for students to use their chromebooks in a variety of new ways for small group, whole group and individual learning. The intent is to minimize the time students are at their desks, instead they are actively self-directed in their learning.
As stated, student achievement is the ultimate goal for all students. Together, with all the design implementations this class is putting together to create a classroom of the future, this goal will be met.
