My Project

Financial literacy involves learning about how money is earned, managed, and saved, and includes concepts like budgeting, investing, and saving. Children can start learning about money as early as age 2 or 3. You can teach them the names of coins and dollar bills, and play games to help them learn. It helps them develop healthy money habits at a young age.

A child who understands basic financial literacy is less likely to make decisions that can lead to massive debt or a poor credit score as a young adult.

Intentional financial literacy in childhood leads to sound money habits down the road. My goal is to help children learn the value of saving money for future goals, emergencies, and retirement. They can set savings goals and track their progress using a piggy bank or savings account. I also want my students to learn to differentiate between needs and wants so they can make wise decisions about how they spend their money. Finally, I want my students to be able to create a budget and prioritize spending to make sure they have enough money for their needs and wants.
