Together, we provided healthier snack options with more protein, less sugar and artificial ingredients. Some of these snacks were new to the students, which opened up their interest in trying other food options aside from what they eat at home or what the school provides. We noticed less behavioral issues in our building because we were able to fill the student's stomachs with something sustainable in between lunch and school dismissal. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for the Warmth, Care & Hunger items that we received. Our entire school is thankful and appreciative of your great acts of kindness and generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1738070922261,"projectUrl":"project/fueling-futures/9030659/","projectTitle":"Fueling Futures","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jessica","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8028297_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1638068083652","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8028297"},{"teacherId":8028297,"projectId":8834071,"letterContent":"Thank you for your donations! Finding creative ways to include financial literacy into current curriculum that don't call for more time or explicit instruction is crucial because teachers may be reluctant to dedicate time to the subject or may view it as just another duty to complete in an already hectic day. \r\n\r\nWith your help, I can easily include financial literacy in my lessons in the following ways: \r\n-I try using dimes or nickels to learn counting by fives instead of the standard base ten blocks. \r\n- I've read aloud from books that contain financial terminology. Financial literacy can be strengthened only by reading books that employ financial terminology and give instances of responsible or reckless money management. \r\n- I use coins and cash to help my students maintain track during math warm-ups. For example, we use pennies to symbolize single days, dimes to represent tens, or a dollar bill to symbolize the hundredth day, and so on.\r\n\r\nAlthough not brand-new, gamification has grown in acceptance and popularity as a valid method of imparting practical knowledge and skills to students of all ages. I can hold my students' attention for a lot longer than I can with worksheets alone, especially if I use board games like Drive Thru Menu Math and Money Bingo. Thank you again for providing my students with the opportunity to learn more about managing money!","fullyFundedDate":1731595033176,"projectUrl":"project/account-handlers/8834071/","projectTitle":"Account Handlers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jessica","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8028297_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1638068083652","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8028297"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_133633","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":54,"percentWhite":26,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":40.0,"schoolId":133633,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Nettleton Learning Center on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Nettleton Learning Center","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arkansas/nettleton-public-schools/nettleton-learning-center/133633"}
