Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I have found that my classroom has become an escape from the everyday life for many of my students. While I cannot directly control my students' home life, I can create a welcoming environment for my students to look forward too, where creativity and imagination thrive.

Despite all the hardships, my students always find something to smile about.

They have strengthened my love of teaching, and while the students think they are the only ones that come to school to learn, they actually provide me with an equally valuable learning experience.

My Project

My students and I were fortunate enough to have been gifted with 18 Kindle Fires for our classroom. Having technology in our classroom enhances my students learning experience. The Kindles are being utilized multiple times throughout the day by different students, and naturally are exposed to daily wear.

In order to maintain our new Kindles for years to come I would like to equip each with a protective cases.

I am also asking for headphones for the Kindles to enhance the student's individual learning. Headphones would help the students focus on their own programed learning without distraction from other students. This could be a big step in advancing my students' classroom technology and learning.
