Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

At the end of the school year, I want each of my students to look back on their literacy and math skills and feel proud of how much they have grown. To be able to do that, they need to maximize their use of the resources they have.

My class is made up of 16 bilingual special education students.

They are loving, hard working students who want desperately to learn and feel like they belong and are able to contribute to society. Our school is filled with amazing teachers, students, staff, and family members who want nothing but success for these students. Our school is located in a low socioeconomic neighborhood where resources ar limited. Providing our students with resources, will help them to close the achievement gap.

My Project

My students will use the requested Chromebook to access technology that will support their individual academic growth. The programs they have available to them assess their individual level, meet them at their level and challenge them to the next level. This is what they need to supplement what they are learning in class. These students do not have a way to access these programs from home because they need the support of a teacher to log in or they do not have the technology available.

My students will be able to close the achievement gap by taking full advantage of the educational programs the district and I have purchased for them.

Having the Chromebook will give them the opportunity to take turns and have time accessing these resources.
