My Project

Help give my students access to communication and participation at all times! My students with complex bodies are not always able to easily access their environment or their communication systems. With these communication devices, you will help open up the world for my students.

My students are some of the most remarkable children I have ever had the privilege to work with.

Every day, they work hard to connect, communicate, regulate, and engage with the world around them. Many do not always have access to the tools they need to fully show what they know, share their ideas, or participate in the ways they deserve. But when they are given the right supports—materials that honor their needs, strengths, and unique ways of learning—you can see their confidence grow and their personalities shine.

The items in this project will make a lasting difference because they will help remove barriers to learning, communication, and participation. These materials will give my students more opportunities to communicate, explore, make choices, interact with others, and show understanding in ways that are meaningful and accessible to them. These are more than classroom supplies—they are tools for access, dignity, connection, and belonging.

My goal for this project is to create a classroom environment where every student feels seen, valued, and capable. I want my students to learn in ways that build confidence, connection, and joy. I want them to know that their voice matters, even if it does not sound like everyone else’s.

What makes my students so special is their perseverance, curiosity, humor, and determination. They teach me every day that communication is so much more than speech, and that every child deserves the tools to be understood and included.
