Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Kindergarten can be rough. Help me make the first school experience my young learners have fun and educational.
My students are young.
For many of them this is their first school experience. They are enrolled in a dual language, transitional kindergarten program. This means I have two groups, each with up to 24 students. Some are months younger than the new minimum age requirement. They get language arts and math instruction in both English and Spanish every day. They come to me for English reading, writing and math instruction. Our school is located in a lower social economic area, and populated by mostly English learners.
My Project
The materials that I am requesting will help my students learn and have a bit of fun at the same time, Alphabet and numbers are the basic curriculum of kindergarten. Children learn to read, write, count and add. Using blocks, games and molding dough makes this learning enjoyable and productive.
Leaving home for the first time is difficult.
Learning is difficult too. Kindergarten used to be fun. Now state standards ask so much of my young students. With your help, I can add color, fun and meaningful interaction to all that my students must learn.
