My Students

My school serves PreK-5th grade inner city students. Teachers collaborate to effectively plan instruction across the grades. We are focused on incorporating STEAM (Science, technology, engineering, arts, math) into the curriculum. In addition, my school is creating classrooms in which students are working hands-on in the classroom, and learning through doing projects as well as sharing their ideas, solutions and strategies. This will help to create, lifelong learners that think about solutions and make connections across the curriculum.

My prospective students are four year olds extremely excited to learn new things about the world.

In the fall, my students will be in their first year of elementary school, and for some it will be their first official school experience. I am looking forward to a year of exploration and discovery through the use technology, and the opportunity for my students to begin to share their learning with families.

I am excited about providing more opportunities for hands-on learning in Literacy and STEAM centers next year! In blocks, I can already see students busy building structures, and look forward to teaching them how to use technology to take photos, and document the process of how we learn by working together.

My Project

In the classroom, students will use the wireless headphones at the listening center or when they are using the iPad. The headphones will make it possible for all students to hear the story and also give students the option of where they want to listen to the book. It will also allow students to be more independent when they choose the listening center. Also the bluetoothspeaker will allow me to share books with the class, presentations and videos of students working. In addition, the printer will allow me to quickly display photos of students creations and share them with families by sending them home in their child's folder. Finally this tool will allow me to easily add photos to classwork.
