Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I wanted to organize this project for my students because students will be leaving their elementary school behind, cherishing all the memories they have made over the last 7-8 years. We need party supplies, snacks, and party favors.
Students will be able to reflect on how far they have come, from starting the very first day when they did not recognize numbers/letters to now become more wise and obtaining more knowledge.
In their little notebook that they will be receiving they will write down how they feel about moving forward to middle school. They will have their notebook to look back at and think that it was not as bad or as scary as they thought it would be. This will make a difference in their learning because students will become more aware that although it is a new beginning and a big change, no matter what they choose to do in life they know they could do it. I will be writing a letter to each student individually to let them know how far each of them have come and to encourage them to purse higher education because I know that they are capable of doing it even if sometimes they do not believe in themselves yet, one day they will.
My students are special because they are respectful and they have come a long way especially with math.
