My Students

My 7th graders are in desperate need of a book to spice up their English/Language Arts class. I believe Madeleine L'Engle's, A Wrinkle in Time, is just what the doctor ordered! This classic tale will win over their hearts and make them examine the themes of love, good vs. evil, and family.

My students are bright young scholars who hail from southeastern Nebraska.

They are creative and I am constantly looking for ways to spark their interests. They are mainly from an agricultural area with a high poverty rate. Most of my students come from awesome families who want their child to be as successful as possible!

My Project

My school current has NO copies of the book, A Wrinkle in Time. I would love for you to help us change that. This book has major projects that stem off it. One project, based on the theme, "The impact one life can have upon the world," will call for my students to put on a Live Wax Museum for our community. They will choose a person who has had a significant impact on the world, write a biography over their character, summarize their biography in a paragraph, and memorize their paragraph. They will find costumes their character would wear and each perform their memorized paragraph in the Live Wax Museum. This project is heavily focused on literacy skills and public speaking.

This project can have a major impact on all students involved as well as our community.

Not only will this be an unforgettable project for my students, but something that will enrich the lives of our patrons.
