This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Hello,

Please do not be discouraged by the fact that this computer is a "gaming pc".

I do not intend for this to be used for recreational purposes. This just means that this PC can handle complex computations and can process graphics and information at great speeds due to its CPU and internal graphics card.

With this computer, my students will be able to edit videos, create exciting and captivating visuals for their presentations, and begin experiencing a powerful and reliable workstation to help them develop professional computer competencies they will apply in the future.

This will also serve as a career readiness station for my Latinos In Action students, an initiative intended to promote leadership, responsibility, and community service. All skills needed to be a well-rounded potential college student. Students will create their resumes on this device, they will create visuals to promote their fund-raising events, and so much more.

This will also be a saving grace for students who cannot afford to have a personal device, who might not have the internet at home, or simply any student who does not qualify for a district device. In my experience, many students struggle to have a reliable computer, even if it's assigned and distributed by the school district.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
