Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The ability to read opens up a whole new world, and that’s exactly what I want to give my students; the world. Many of my students both past and present have come from homes where English is not the primary language spoken at home, and in some of the homes, English is not spoken at all. While I celebrate my students' native tongue, I also want to build a solid foundation within the English language by building my students' vocabulary and reading skills. A well-stocked library with books on display using book stands is the only way to do that. Students will see the books and be motivated to read them.
