My Students

My students are very diverse. I have students that range from the ages of three up to thirteen. As you can imagine, I need a diverse selection of materials for my diverse students. We have recently relocated due to a natural disaster, and a large area rug would make the room feel warm and welcoming!

My students are so much fun!

They are the reason why I love my job so much. They are always keeping me on my toes and extra sharp. I have a large amount of students that vary in ages as well as their academic skills. I have been very fortunate to have been given some of the most loving students that my school has to offer.

My Project

My students will use the requested area rug in so many ways! Shared reading will be the number one benefit of the area rug. Each student will be assigned a leaf that will be theirs for the rest of the school year to sit on while they listen and interact with shared reading exercises. I will also modify the rug by taping letters/numbers on the leaves to help them with math and literacy activities as well. This rug will prove to be very useful in a variety of academic subjects!

My project will make an impact with my students by creating a welcoming environment for them.

I want them to feel comfortable and safe in their new classroom after the relocation from the natural disaster. An area rug will not only help the room feel bright and cheery, it will also create a comfortable place for them to sit on during activities. This project means so much to the students!
