My students need these books. I know this is a lot but, this is an entire school year worth of books from a program that I am going to purchase out of pocket for my students.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 28 students who look at me every morning with smiles on their faces. They look to me to guide them for the day and provide them with an education. They come from a rural area of Tucson, Arizona, where the desert is their backyard. They are not afraid of desert life, and know how to respect nature.
They are being inspired to become productive members of society and I want to equip them with the tools they need to be successful.
Our school is funded by Title I. The majority of my students are Hispanic, but we are a diverse school. Our motto is ROAR (Respect of All Rules)! Students encourage each other to do their best and reach their goals!
My Project
We are requesting books! Our titles include The Koala Who Could, School's First Day of School, The Big Bed, Naughty Mabel, Nerdy Birdy and many more. My students need these books to learn different genres, comprehension, and other major concepts. I am going to purchase a program that uses one book a week to teach different concepts. My students have a phonics program that is phenomenal but, I want to expand the types of books they read and see.
I want to expose my to students to powerful, and meaningful literature.
Each of these titles will allow me to model fluent reading and deeper-level thinking. These books are meant to be a read aloud but will be available for my students. These books are diverse, and I want my students to see themselves and/or make a connection to each book.
