Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a Title I elementary school in North Carolina. Most of them are bilingual, speaking English only at school. Many parents and families work two or three jobs to provide the basic necessities at home. They want the best education for their children and to help them as much as they can.

My students are hard-working, curious kids.

They enjoy all hands-on activities and have a variety of interests. Our class works well together and enjoys helping each other learn.

My Project

I am requesting prizes for our classroom prize box including slime, notepads, airplanes, keychains, and spinning tops. These prizes will be added to our classroom prize box, which students can go to when they exhibit positive behavior, academic success, or completing a task like filling up their reading log with 25 books. It is a small incentive which really helps to motivate them to work hard and show good behavior. I am also requesting some Valentine stickers and paper bags. We will use these materials to create Valentine bags to put their cards and goodies in as well as cards to give to someone special. The birdhouses I am requesting will be loved by all of my students. They can show off their creativity by painting/decorating it and take it home to hang up outside for the birds to visit. Our school day is jammed packed with academic work so this activity is meant to help them relax and have some fun together. Thank you for supporting my students!
