This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have one of the greatest jobs in the world, educating students with special individual needs. I have committed my life to being an advocate for the educational needs of all special needs students through the provisions of appropriate and effective instruction. My students are my heart! Several of my students have learning and or physical disabilities. However, since most of my students are virtual right now, it has become increasingly hard to keep the motivated. Many of them have other health issues and because of those health concerns their doctors felt that it was best that they remain at home. Some of them do not even understand what is going on. They only know that they are away from their friends and their teacher.
My Project
These items will be used by all of my Special Needs Students while they are a home for their two week Christmas Break. When this project is funded the students will enjoy reading African American Literature, enjoying tasty snacks, and having the opportunity to wear safe masks to during this very dangerous pandemic . These are also books that they will be allowed to take AR ( Accelerated Reading ) Tests on to earn points. We will also have a book reading club during their break on Zoom, to discuss the books that I haven chosen to go in their Christmas gift bags in which I am preparing for them to take home to enjoy.
