Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am the reading teacher at my school. My students are "EAGER READERS"! They get so excited about books. My students read, but, I want them to have a love for reading chapter books. We are excited about starting a book club this year. A book club would give me a chance to introduce more chapter books in my class.

I also plan to implement "A taste for Reading" every 3 months to introduce books relating to food.

I am excited about this book club and introducing chapter books to my eager readers.

All of our students eat free breakfast and lunch.

My Project

This set of books will allow me to give my students "A Taste of Reading" set. They will incorporate reading and tasting new foods to peak their interest in reading more. This set of books will be fun and interesting to my students. I picked this set because my students love the Newbery Award Children books. This set of books will pique the interest of my boys and many of my girls.

The headphones will be used to access online books in the classroom.

We try it all in my class; online books and books from our classroom library. I am excited about adding to our classroom library.
