This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I work at a very large public elementary school of about 1100 students. We have students from various income levels, with a third receiving free lunch. The school is situated in the middle of a neighborhood which helps to foster a positive atmosphere- many students know one another outside of school. The students are very supportive of one another.
My classroom is filled with active, creative students who are eager to strengthen their learning both inside and outside of the classroom.
My students are fun loving, creative, orators, capable, and caring children; they are most importantly OUR FUTURE!
My Project
My students will use these tablets in a variety of different ways.
This technology will provide my students with greater opportunities to be more actively engaged in their learning experience.
With the addition of two tablets, students will be able to access thousands of books from a variety of genres through the Myon Program.
My struggling students will be able to work independently at their current level to support their learning by using various software programs like I-Ready. Other students will be challenged with interactive lessons designed to deepen their understanding.
The tablets can be used to publish their writing pieces and create PowerPoint presentations to share with the class. Technology, such as these tablets and the printer, will provide my students with greater opportunities to be more actively engaged in their learning experience.
It is my hope to eventually have an area where students can read, write, and create using technology.
