Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

A kidney table will allow my students to work in close proximity with me while doing small group activities. It allows me to position myself at the table so that I can easily reach each student while teaching them skills, strategies and procedures. This kidney table will also give the students the opportunity to work with each other in small groups. During independent and/or group work, students are able to sit together at the table to work on different projects.

Students get really excited when they are able to play the "teacher" role and lead games and activities with their peers while seating in the teacher's seat at the kidney table.

This will give them the chance to take ownership in their educational experiences.
