A Space for Restorative Practices

My Project

This project helps to provide a safe and comfortable space for middle school students to regulate, gain coping and social tools, and re-connect with peers after a conflict. Students who visit with space are often in distress and need a place to co-regulate before they are ready to return to class.

The items in this project will help provide a space and tools (like figits and flexible seating) for regulation as well as strategies to reconnect with teachers and peers in a low stakes social setting (like games and art).

Students I work with have the highest social emotional needs in our school. They have a history of conflict with others and often have had multiple suspensions. Supporting this project helps give students the tools to stay in school and continue learning.
