My Project
The school garden is a place for our students to learn about sustainability and ecosystems, relax in nature, and work through many of their challenges. The garden provides so many benefits for students, but can also be burdensome to the people, both students and staff, who work to maintain it. The gloves and fence will be used for digging, planting, weeding, and harvesting the garden to help promote its overall health and wellness impact.
Gardening fosters a deeper connection to the natural world and it allows students to observe the rhythms of nature, learn about the life cycles of plants and animals, and develop an appreciation for the environment.
The birdhouse and plants will help to tip the scales in a positive direction. Students have begun designing maintain and organize our garden plot. By participating in gardening activities, students develop a sense of environmental stewardship and learn about sustainable practices such as composting, water conservation, and organic gardening methods. They become more aware of their impact on the environment and how they can contribute to its preservation.
