My Project

I am the school counselor at a PreK - 5 low income school in a rural area of eastern North Carolina. Currently I have an old, hand me down rug in our classroom. The current rug does not have specific spaces for students to sit in and is dirty from years of wear and tear in a regular education classroom.

The new rug will give my Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students their "own personal space" while participating in the SEL lesson.

These students come to the guidance classroom every week for an SEL lesson. This rug will create a clean welcoming space for all of my students to listen to read aloud stories, dance along to SEL songs and participate in the lesson. It would enhance my classroom greatly!

Please consider donating to my project to help fund a new cheerful rug that allows each student to have their own personal space during our SEL lessons.
