A Soprano Recorder to a Child in Need!

Help me give my students a soprano recorder instrument for my 3rd-grade class!

My Project

The supplies I am requesting are for my 3rd-grade music students. The purpose of this donation is to assist families that may not have discretionary funds to purchase a soprano recorder for their child.

The soprano recorder is a staple instrument within an elementary music program.

Recorder education is best described through the Orff Schulwerk classrooms. "Where children begin with what they do instinctively: play! Imitation, experimentation, and personal expression occur naturally as students become confident, life-long musicians and creative problem solvers. The Orff approach to teaching is a model for optimal learning in 21st Century classrooms.

Learning the recorder prepares students for reading and performing standard notation. Students that begin on the recorder in third grade have the tools necessary to successfully begin band in the following years. Students that have been exposed to a recorder curriculum will know how to read standard notation on the staff and can focus their new learning on learning a band instrument of choice.

The recorder is awesome and so much fun!
