Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am blessed to teach an amazing group of third-grade students in an inclusion classroom. My students truly have a passion for learning. They are hardworking, enthusiastic, and incredible. Within my classroom, I strive to create an environment that focuses on cultivating positive social and emotional skills, as well as strong academic skills. My goal is to build a culture of kindness, inclusion, and acceptance so all students can thrive.

This project will ensure every child has a matching T-shirt and a chance to celebrate being part of our classroom family.

Not every child has a school spirit shirt to wear on school spirit days, and I want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to participate and feel included. I will personalize each shirt with the child’s name on the back, making it uniquely theirs while giving everyone a personal connection to our classroom.

We will wear our shirts on school spirit days, field trips, class celebrations, and other memorable moments throughout the year. More than matching, these shirts will give my students something of their own to enjoy and a reminder that they are an important part of our classroom community.

These shirts will give us another way to come together, show our school spirit, and celebrate the classroom community we have built. Most importantly, I want them to become a reminder of the friendships, laughter, experiences, and little moments that made this year special. Years from now, I hope my students will see their shirts and remember how it felt to be part of a classroom where they were valued and cared for.

Thank you for helping me give my students something they can proudly wear and cherish as a reminder of the classroom family we created together.
