My Students

I teach at a Title I school in Indiana. We are a large school serving over 850 students. In the fifth grade alone there are over 150 students. You would never be able to tell we were that big though because our school still feels like a small close-knit and supportive family.

Everyday, my fifth graders come to school putting forth their full effort and compassion.

My current class is by far the kindest, hardest working and most dedicated class I have ever taught. They commit to their studies and their effort shows in all the progress they have made this year!

My Project

My students have read and loved the "The Bad Beginnings" which is the first book in the series, "A Series of Unfortunate Events." I am requesting the second book in the series, "The Reptile Room" so my students can continue their passion for reading this series in the classroom.

Most of my students speak English as a second language.

They are hard workers and avid readers. One thing I love as an educator about this series is that the author continues to find ways to introduce new vocabulary while providing the definition for the newly introduced vocabulary. This is perfect for my English learners as they are eager to increase their vocabulary knowledge.
