A Sense of Calm for Students Dealing With Distress

Help me give my students a place to feel calm and at peace each day due to a fellow classmate passing away due to suicide.

My Project

Our school is creating a calming area between classrooms to provide students an opportunity to decompress and calm their busy minds. Our students have daily stressors and need an opportunity to feel safe and comfortable in a soothing environment.

Unfortunately, some of our students have major trauma that they face, and currently, they don't have a space to privately work through their emotions and thoughts.

We need coffee tables, lamps, and lap tables to create this space. Due to the recent death of a student by suicide, our student body has voiced the need to have a space that is designated to allow our students time and space to regulate themselves when needed.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
