A Safer Way to Be Great!

Help me give my students plyo balls and a sound system to teach a safer way to tackle with less contact and the ability to project my voice across 100 yards of field to provide effective instruction.

My Students

I am fortunate to lead the largest extra-curricular activity on campus with the Arsenal Tech Titan's Football program. We serve over 100 STUDENT-athletes from the inner-city of Indianapolis. We embrace diversity and are fortunate to work with several different cultures within our football program. Our program mission is to model and create habits in the athletic, academic, and social lifestyle that will boost personal success in the next forty years of life for TECH Football players.

While our students come with tremendous talent and ability, their socio-economic status often times hinders their ability to thrive as their counterparts do within other school districts.

Our district (IPS) serves the most at-risk students in the state of Indiana. These students deserve the same opportunities as their competition and benefit from sport participation as another opportunity to further education beyond high school. We are grateful for all the help of our community partners. God Bless!

My Project

As further development continues around the sport of football in efforts to make the game safer, our program uses tackling drills on plyo balls to each angles, leverage and lessen the impact of tackling. We believe that it is harder to correct a player to tackle with the proper form when he is running into a heavier object such as a human. A player is more likely to develop the correct technique tackling when learning to do it safely and with more confidence.

Safety is our priority!

We must be able to connect with players at all times. The sound system will allow me to connect with players on constructive technique with executing the necessary maneuvers to be safe in the game of football.
