This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

About 90% of our students are low income. They strive to survive in the Bay Area, and their families work a lot and are barely able to pay the rent. The parents love their children, but often have a difficult time motivating their children to thrive academically because they are so consumed with the burden of providing basic needs for their families.

Our students deserve to have access to social-emotional learning activities and lessons to support their well-being so they can develop a positive outlook in life.

More importantly, social-emotional learning lessons will help our students develop the social skills they need to thrive academically and in life.

My Project

Students need a safe and clean environment to learn, especially right now during this pandemic when many students and their families fear returning to school in person. The supplies for this project will be used to keep their space clean, mopped, and sanitized. This is very important to help create a calm and clean space where students feel free to engage in learning. The materials will be used to maintain everything from the floors to the surfaces sanitized and ready for each student to feel calm, clean, and safe.
