A Rug to Call Our Own

Help me give my students a new rug for circle time where we read, learn, and share our stories and ideas. Our old rug is dirty, stained, and needs to be retired! This would make them SO happy!

My Students

I am a teacher of 24 amazing children! They come from all different backgrounds, nationalities, and socio-economic levels, but in our classroom, we are just one happy, loving school family.

My students are so eager to learn new things!

They work together and have such fun doing it! They enjoy learning together, listening to one another, talking about their great ideas, and playing together.

Our students spend time listening to stories, partner reading, working in math and literacy stations, and so much more!

My Project

The students notice that our rug is dirty, frayed, and stained. Some have trouble concentrating for worry they are sitting on something yucky. Others pick at the frayed areas and make them worse. Also, the squares are too close together and they bump each other. Either way, it keeps many from doing what is most important: listening, learning and being engaged in what we are doing.

If we had a new, clean rug with larger squares for everyone, it would help them stay more focused on learning, feel happier about circle time together, and more comfortable about where they were sitting.
