A Rug to Bring the Class Together

Help me give my students a beautiful rug for the classroom so that they have somewhere soft and comfortable to sit during morning meeting, story time, & calendar time.

My Project

Kindergarten is such a special time in a child's life. For a lot of these little ones, it is their first time being away from their family. It can be an exciting yet scary time for them. It may also be the first time they have had the chance to experience true socialization with children their age and learning as a group. Having a classroom rug will help to bring us all together.

Every student deserves a safe and comfortable environment to learn, explore, and grow.

My school is unable to afford a rug for my kindergarten classroom. I am hopeful that with the help of Donors Choose, we will be able to have a beautiful, soft, & comfortable rug instead of a cold, hard tile floor to sit on as a class. We will be able to utilize this rug in our whole group learning space, where we will have morning meeting, calendar time, learning circle, and, of course, we will enjoy plenty of read-alouds. This rug will help facilitate learning and growing activities that will take place in our classroom.
