This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Our diverse group of students eagerly anticipates our annual reading celebration, where we honor their growth in reading skills. This year, we are thrilled to announce our theme: A Reading Fiesta. This Reading Fiesta promises an exciting and enriching experience for all participants, fostering a vibrant reading culture within the community. The Fiesta is designed to engage and delight participants of all ages, fostering a love for reading through various literacy activities that bring together students, educators, and families in a joyous celebration of books and storytelling.

The Reading Fiesta will play a vital role in developing and celebrating our students as readers by promoting a love for reading, enhancing reading skills, celebrating diversity through literature, and boosting confidence in their reading abilities.

By creating a vibrant and inviting environment filled with diverse reading materials and engaging activities, we aim to spark a passion for reading that extends beyond the classroom, encourage exploration of different genres and authors, and create lasting positive memories associated with reading.

To make our vision of a Reading Fiesta come to life, we kindly request materials including colorful decorations to transform the gym into a festive reading space, keepsake items, and items to create a photo booth. Your support in providing these materials will help us cultivate a culture of reading and empower our students to become lifelong learners.
