My Project

I love giving my students a variety of reading opportunities in our high-level English 3 Honors course, and the play A Raisin in the Sun will be a strong bridge to connect three worthy texts.

I'd like to follow up the Roaring '20s and The Great Gatsby with a decade of change and the struggles of life in the 1950s before we delve into the Vietnam War Era with The Things They Carried.

By having students read this play, they will see another thematic topic in a different medium. This time of the year, the students are stressed with testing, but this engaging literature will bring a new focus to the course.
