My Project

We are so excited to announce that, due to a previously funded Donor's Choose project, we are able to take out our huge, unwieldy, and ancient circulation desk! This opens up a large amount of floor space in our library where we will be able to hold story times, author visits, guest speakers, and information literacy lessons for all grade levels - K-5!

We want to fill this space with A RAINBOW OF FLEXIBLE SEATING so that ALL students regardless of attention challenges, sensory needs, or mobility assistance devices can participate in everything the library has to offer!

This project is one of several to fill out our rainbow of choices - so that we can make each seating option funded a win towards meeting a particular type of need. These bench seats specifically will provide seats for students who are building social bonds and are part of peer-to-peer modeling. These will also bring students, who were previously required to sit on the floor to participate, up to eye level with fellow students in wheelchairs. Being able to look a peer in the eye is an important part of building community and we are a school that believes every student belongs here!
