Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are proud to teach a group of 5th graders who are nearly all first and second generation Americans. These students have worked incredibly hard all year to learn both academic and social emotional skills. After spending their 3rd grade year online and their 4th grade year transitioning back to being in the classroom, this year has been their first "normal" school year in quite some time. We have seen them work through many challenges as they learn how to regulate their emotions and to interact with peers, all while continuing to master new academic content. As we approach the end of the school year, we want to give the students a chance to celebrate their hard work. We will use the shirts, dye, pens, and paper to create class shirts and memory books.
These students have had to demonstrate remarkable resiliency.
They have come together as a strong community and we are so proud of their growth this year. We are looking forward to honoring their effort during our end of year celebration.
