Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work with an incredible group of middle schoolers who have shown remarkable growth as students. The class includes 17 students with autism, ranging from 6th to 8th grade, each with various learning, physical, and social-emotional challenges. Despite these obstacles, my students continually impress me with their determination and progress. One of the most rewarding aspects of teaching this class is witnessing the smiles on their faces as we have built a close-knit community together.
Supplies I am requesting to Support Our Students:
Snacks: To help address student hunger and nutrition, providing the energy they need throughout the day. Headphones: To assist students with auditory needs. Fidget Toys: To support students in concentrating and regulating themselves through sensory stimulation and engagement. Crayons: To encourage drawing and foster creativity. Disinfectant Wipes: To clean surfaces and objects, ensuring a safe and healthy environment. PowerPoint Presentation: To aid in delivering a multimedia and digital curriculum effectively.
School supplies are very influential on young students. Learning begins with the fundamentals. Without these basic tools, they won’t participate enough to learn. These are just some of the reasons why school supplies are so important for students in the early stages of their school careers. When kids have what they need for school, it makes the experience more positive.
