My students need an iPad mini to have access to a digital camera, educational applications,data collection for guiding classroom instruction, and documenting how amazing they are.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are amazing, tiny little sponges, ready to soak up every new thing in their environment. We are always taking pictures, documenting our experiences (and FUN). I interact with my students throughout the entire day. Every interaction is seen as an opportunity for them to learn and grow!
My students have been chosen for the program based on their education needs, family circumstances, and social/emotional development.
The Pre-Kindergarten program provides young children with the foundation for a successful academic future. They are given the chance to 'play' as they learn (appropriate social interactions, as well as pre-academics).
My school is in a rural area. We are Title I school, so a large number of our students receive Free/Reduced meals.
My Project
This project would provide an iPad Mini for use in my classroom. The iPad would be used to take pictures and videos. I take pictures throughout the school day. The students often request I take their picture to show something they have built, a game they are playing, or something new they have discovered. I normally use my phone to take the pictures and print them, or share them with their families.
The iPad Mini would be used for students to interact with apps. that encourage practice, exploration, and learning. We would use apps. to collect data related to behaviors, student achievement, and student needs.
The student data would provide information to drive my instruction, meet and support students, and supplement instruction and learning.
This device would be a valuable tool for my classroom.
My job is to prepare students for Kindergarten. Having technology at my fingertips (and the students') would allow us to research new ideas and answer questions.
This device would also provide a place to collect precious memories throughout the school year, and set the stage for each student's school career. My job is to help them LOVE TO LEARN, seek learning experiences, and share this love with their families
