My students need a nice, clean place to gather for story time.

Morning circle time is the most important time of the day. It is the time when we gather to share experiences and connect with one another. We sing, play, talk, and learn during circle time to celebrate each other and our love of learning.
I am so lucky lucky to teach a class of wonderful kindergarten students every day.
Our school is located in a high-needs community in the Bronx. Although most of my students come from low-income homes, they always come to school happy and eager to learn. They LOVE morning circle time! Every morning, we gather in the front of the classroom to share stories, talk about the weather and class news. We talk about things that our important to us. We learn how to be a good citizen and a good friend. We review letters, numbers, and add new words to our word wall (which is growing every day)! We dance and sing songs every single day! My mission as an educator is to create a joyous, positive learning environment for my young scholars. Not only will this motivate them to love school, but I believe it will create a culture of life-long learning.
We would greatly benefit from a nice clean rug to gather for circle time. Currently we use carpet remnants that I was able to acquire from a generous rug store, but these remnants continue to fray, and the fibers are messy when they come undone. It would be great to have a bright cheerful rug on which to hold our morning meetings.
Your generous donation of a beautiful, class sized rug from Lakeshore Learning will help brighten up our classroom and give us a nice, clean place to gather and share our love of learning.
