I teach 9th and 10th grade English at a high needs, high performing school. The school attracts and accepts students that are serious and diligent but also fun and outgoing.

I have a beautiful classroom with a mounted Smartboard. Its a great way to utilize technology in the classroom quite often. However, because of the structure of the room, the Smartboard now covers the chalk board. That means, there is not really a place for me to jot down important information for the students.

Having a mobile marker board would help in so many ways. To begin, it would give the students a place to write down information or present work when the Smartboard is too complicated. Furthermore, it would be a place for me to keep long-term reminders like tests, projects and papers so that the students can see what is coming up. The Smartboard can only show one slide at a time so there is no way to have anything permanent up in the room.

I really try to provide every opportunity for my students to succeed and do well in my class and their other classes as well. This marker board would really allow us to enhance our organization skills and it would also just make everyone's life a little bit easier.
