Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have gone through a lot these past few years with the pandemic, and they are still being affected by it. Most have been learning virtually for over a year. My class consists of 28 amazing second graders, 10 are English language learners. They are all determined to do their best and conquer any challenges they may face. Many students in my classroom come in saying they have difficulty completing assignments because of lack of supplies and resources.

It’s my goal to give them a space where the feel confident, comfortable and focused to learn.

These items that I am asking for will greatly benefit all students in my classroom in some way.

My Project

These products will help support my students both in the classroom and at home. My goal is to make my classroom a safe space for my students. Providing them with as much as I can. Giving these students a set of crayons for them to be able to use at home will brighten their day.

As we face the challenge of learning in the classroom but also times where we must learn remotely, it is important for me to help provide my students with materials where they can learn efficiently and effectively in any setting.

These materials will not only help my students in the classroom but will also allow me to enhance my teaching. Many of my students are not able to purchase their own supplies. These materials will allow me to support my students and provide them with their own supplies to help enhance their learning experience. Giving my students flexible seating for reading/work, being able to provide them with supplies such as crayons, construction paper, dry erase markers, etc will support and enhance their learning daily. My goal is to make my classroom a safe space for all of my students. A place where they feel comfortable, confident, and cared for.
