My Students

I have been teaching for 11 years and truly LOVE what I do. During that time, I have witnessed drastic changes in education and have continued to adapt and improve my skills to better serve each and every student. I have taught grade levels Kindergarten through fifth grade. One of the things that I love most about our school is that we serve a diverse community. Our students come from various backgrounds and are all given the opportunity to grow.

My Project

In Kindergarten, it is so important for students to have their own space to help teach them personal boundaries and how to keep their hands and feet to themselves. Having a rug like this in my classroom will help to remind students of their classmates' personal boundaries while giving them enough space to get their wiggles out in their own personal space.

This rug will tie in nicely with my classroom because everything we do is color coded just like the rug, so it will make for easy transitions from their desks to the rug for instructional time during the day.
