My Students

My Algebra I class is made up of very energetic and enthusiastic learners. Most of my students are one year advanced in their academic program. They are from very diverse culture backgrounds but have learned to appreciate and embrace that diversity. They work well together in groups and enjoy being academically challenged not only by me, but by one another.

My students enjoy utilizing a variety of problem solving tools in order to accomplish their learning goals.

Whether it be a hands-on project, a data or information gathering activity, a group problem solving task, researching problems and solutions to problems on the Internet, or organizing tasks using the computer, they want to be creative and productive in meeting their learning goals.

My Project

These shelves will provide my students with a place to store their books and supplies so that the aisles can be kept clear and safe. Since our classroom is so small and the number of students has increased in each class, there is not enough room for students to keep their books next to their desks. The number of desks has increased, thus eliminating the storage space between desks which creates a safety issue for students when entering the classroom, leaving the classroom, and moving about the classroom.

Students do not have enough space to move about when doing cooperative learning activities.

These shelves will provide vertical storage, creating increased floor space and eliminating some of the safety hazard created by increasing the number of students in a classroom.
