A Place For Everything, And Everything In It's Place!
My students need At-Your-Seat Storage Sacks to help with organization skills. Students sit at tables rather than desks, and need a way to organize their most-needed items.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a teacher of 18 energetic kindergarten students from a rich diversity of cultures and backgrounds in a Title I neighborhood school in an urban area. Many are second language learners or children with special needs.
My students are enthusiastic and curious about the world around them.
Kindergarten students are active learners whose attention spans tend to be short. I must, however, help them develop the ability to focus, work independently, and self-motivate to reach their individual goals and kindergarten expectations which have risen to hard-to-reach levels for some students.
My Project
Kindergarten is the foundation for future school learning. Many of the skills learned here, whether academic or learning how to organize materials, will help students as they advance through school and in later life.
In this project, I am focusing on helping students organize materials for success.
Students will have their own At-Your-Seat Storage sacks with a top pocket to store pencil pouches with their own crayons and pencils. The large bottom pocket will hold their Writing Journal and their Book Bag for Independent Reading. Having these materials well-organized and conveniently located will cut down on wasted time looking for materials or going to an area in the room where these materials are located. Students who are "early finishers" will always have a story to finish or books to engage them to further their learning.
The Crayon Sharpener will help us use our crayons without waste. Students love using sharp crayons. Having a quick way to remedy worn down crayons will encourage children to be creative and focus instead of being side-tracked by hard-to-use materials and trying to tear the paper off!
I will use the Dry Erase Spots on the table I use for Guided Reading and meeting with small groups to work on skills. Kindergarteners love using a dry erase marker to practice writing letters, sight words, and word families. The Dry Erase Spots are fun and since they adhere to the table, are always ready-to-use! They will also facilitate sorting letters, sounds and various objects.
The laminator will be a great help to me in preparing games and other materials for students that can be used over and over again. The school laminator has either been broken or without paper due to budget cutbacks for several years.
