Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are a diverse group of kindergartners who come to school each day excited to learn. They know that our classroom is a safe place no matter what may be going on at home.

Over half of the students at my school come from a low-income family, and more than half of my own students are on free or reduced-price lunch.

My students are faced with challenges both inside and outside of the classroom. They need a safe place to learn and express themselves.

My Project

This carpet would allow for our larger co-teach class to still have a place to meet as a whole group! Our current carpet only holds 25 students, this means 2 students are left out!

Our students would each like their own space on our classroom carpet.

This would help with focus during whole group, and also contribute to classroom relationships! We meet several times a day for whole group lessons. Reading, Writing, Math, you name it, it takes place on our carpet!

The colors of this carpet would also compliment the bright color scheme in our classroom, which our kiddos LOVE!
