Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students in my third-grade class begin school with varied abilities. Math and reading can be challenging to an average student and may seem impossible to a student functioning below grade level. Good attendance and positive attitudes are rewarded and students strive to be academic leaders of our school. Our school community is supportive and fosters a loving environment. My students are hard workers and strive for excellence!
The more that you read, the more things you will know, the more you learn, the more places you'll go.
-Dr. Seuss
My students are hard working third graders, with a powerful drive to succeed. They have varied abilities and need different levels of support to achieve their goals. My school has an enrollment of 671 students from K through sixth grade. We have a diverse population with a large percentage of English language learners and special education students. The majority of our students are from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
My Project
A new rug would make a great addition to our classroom! We are in need of a new rug and my students spend a portion of their day listening to stories, learning, and working within groups on the rug.
A place for everyone gives all students a sense of personal space.
My class consists of students with varying abilities and disabilities. I currently have four students with Autism, and having their own space makes their day more productive. The rug I am looking for has separate squares to give students that defined seating space that is all their own. Such an addition would be a great asset to our classroom.
