Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a small rural town. Many students are ESL and require modifications with special attention to reading and understanding. Not only do my ESL students need modifications, a lot of students reading below grade level require those same practices.

Reading is a huge focus for our school, especially in the third grade.

The students have an abundance of testing to do and need extra tools to be successful. Every student has a need to fulfill, I want to be able to give them the opportunities to feel confident in succeeding.

My Project

My students this upcoming school year are going to need some space for their things. Our class sizes are growing quickly and the organization tools we need would really help us keep our things in the right places.

The students could really use the mailboxes to have accountability for their things.

It would promote their independence and having to be responsible to check their box on a daily basis. Students in our area are not able to donate these items for our classroom, so we have to seek other resources to help prepare our students, not only academically, but for the real world standards as well.

We will be using the 3 drawer containers to store materials within each group. This will also help them be accountable for their belongings within their teams.

The name tags and sleeves will help each student show ownership or their selected area. They will be held responsible for their name tag and maintaining it throughout the school year. My goal is for them to have pride in their area and want to look unified as a team in our classroom.
