My Project
Currently our students do not have access to cameras for creating the yearbook. They have been relying primarily on their cell phones and personal cameras to document their final year of high school. While we were able to raise funds four years ago, with a lot of help from Donorschoose, and members of the school community, we are still short on equipment and cannot successfully document the year, especially with all of the change that we hope to create through digital photography as a form of visual art.
Due to wear and tear, and and increased class size, we simply cannot complete a yearbook without the help of our LaGuardia Community, as we are limited in supplies and resources.
Unfortunately, the cameras that were donated in the past went missing while the school was closed during the early days of COVID-19 pandemic, with only one camera remaining. We are still well short of the amount of equipment that we need, with the senior class being larger than ever, there is a dire need for your help. It is important that we are able to have the necessary camera supplies for our students to document this year and develop strong media literacy skills.
