This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a 2nd-grade teacher in a high needs, low income, Title I school. Our students are primarily English Language Learners. Our school is made up of 70% ELL and 100% of them receive a free lunch and breakfast.
I have an incredible group of 26 students this school year.
We are currently teaching virtually and soon we will be going hybrid. Every day these students will walk into the classroom eager to learn and ready to face any challenge that's put in front of them. Students spend long hours at school every day and, yet, every single day they're excited to be here and ready to take on whatever is put in front of them. It truly amazes me how determined and dedicated these young minds of theirs are.
My Project
I am extremely excited for this new school year. It’s only been 3 weeks and I am already falling in love with my class and students. We are currently teaching virtually but will be switching to hybrid really soon. I have always loved capturing our classroom memories.
I really would love to have a classroom set of instant print cameras where students are able to help capture any beautiful memories that are made.
My most favorite thing to do is being able to post our classroom photos around the room for students to enjoy on a daily. It really creates a warm and loving environment. I also love when parents or other teachers are able to come in and see certain moments in our school day. I know with these instant print cameras our students will be able to engaged and capture those moments to share with family and friends. Like that saying “A picture is worth a 1000 words” and I couldn’t agree anymore.
