Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students with autism are creative, curious, and full of personality. They each have their own way of seeing the world, and they often shine brightest during hands-on, visual activities. Having a photo booth available for school events like social gatherings, celebrations, and classroom showcases would give them a comfortable and structured way to interact with peers. This tool would not only make our events more fun but also support the social learning that is essential for their growth.

A photo booth can make a meaningful difference in their social development.

Many students with autism benefit from guided opportunities to practice communication, taking turns, and engaging in shared experiences. Posing together, choosing props, or helping a friend take a picture naturally creates moments for conversation and teamwork. These interactions help build confidence, encourage peer connections, and make social events more accessible and enjoyable for all students.

Our goals include strengthening social skills, encouraging self-expression, and helping students feel successful in group settings. Visual learning is a strength for many children with autism, and a photo booth provides a predictable and supportive space where they can express emotions, explore creativity, and participate fully in school and community traditions. The photo booth will also support academic tasks; students can write captions, create short social stories, or use photos to label emotions and sequence events. Their unique perspectives and appreciation for details make them especially excited about tools that allow for creative choice and visual storytelling.

With your support, this photo booth will become a meaningful part of our school events, helping students feel included, confident, and proud of who they are. Thank you for helping us create joyful moments that bring our students together and celebrate their individuality.
