This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school works hard to promote healthy habits with students, families, and staff. One healthy habit initiative is cultivating a school garden with the helping hands of many students and faculty who gather weekly for the garden club.

We would love to offer students their own farm-to-table experience by building a collection of kitchen utensils that will allow us to prepare the food grown from our garden.

The kitchen gadgets in this project are a-PEEL-ing because they will literally help us peel and chop sweet potatoes, carrots, and other veggies from our garden. Plus, these items can be used to turn leftover apples from lunch into other meal items, which supports an additional initiative to limit food waste.
