My Project
For the past three years, with the help of the DonorsChoose community, we've been able to do the extraordinary-- that is, make teenagers excited about books.
Two months ago, we held our third annual "Book Tasting" event and 250 students were able to attend and pick out a couple of books to take home for free.
We had a book scavenger hunt, a "Drop Everything and Read" corner where students could relax and sample the books, and plenty of cool bookmarks to read in style.
In a glowing review, one student described the scene as "heaven but better."
A book fair is only as good as the books provided and as such, we are depending on these crowd-sourced donations and soliciting them early to ensure that we have enough high-interest books to allow more students to have access next year. Each funded project of twenty books will allow us to invite ten more students.
Please help us in our continued efforts to re-enchant the world of our students through the gift of a good book.
DonorsChoose is the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
As a teacher-founded nonprofit, we're trusted by thousands of teachers and supporters across the country. This classroom request for funding was created by Ms. Lantigua and reviewed by the DonorsChoose team.
